Living room is none of the most important rooms of the house because this is where most activities are done. A living room is usually multifunctional and has enough sitting for the entire family. Creating that kind of area is easy if you have a large living room, but what if yours is so tight in space? Small living areas need different treatments when it comes for doing the decoration. Since it has limited space, your ways to decorate it are also limited. However, it doesn’t that it is difficult and complicated. As long as you enjoy it, this will be quietly easy.

Choosing the right paint color is very important in decorating small living areas because paint colors can change the size and dimension of a small room. Cool tones such as grays, blues and greens are appropriate for small rooms. Gray is neutral color that goes with any color scheme, so it can be a good option. Paint the ceiling one shade lighter than the walls to make your room feel taller and airier. Hang curtains that stretch to the floor near the ceiling. Hang them higher than the top of the window, four to six inches higher. Curtains that stretch from the ceiling to floor can create the illusion of height and space in a small room. For the furniture, you have to choose the one that fit to your small space. Put two couches facing each other with a coffee table in between can work well. When choosing couches or chairs, consider the armless ones because they will make the space feel open. Also, don’t put too many furniture as it will clutter up your small living room and make it feel crowded.

So, small living areas can be made larger visually as long as you put the right colors and items to your living room.
